National Coordinating Committee decides to expand lockdown nationwide

ISLAMABAD The National Coordination Committee meeting chaired by the Prime Minister decided to further expand the lockdown across the country. The number of days to extend will be announced after the re-sitting tomorrow.

The joint decision on lockdown was agreed at a key meeting of the National Coordination Committee chaired by the Prime Minister. Steps to deal with Corona's situation are under consideration. NDMA officials briefed the Committee on Export and Availability of Medical Devices.

The meeting decided to enhance Corona's lab testing facilities. It was also agreed to continue public awareness more effectively and to open the first phase of the construction sector tomorrow.

The Prime Minister accepted the demand of Sindh Chief Minister for consultation before making decisions in the coroner outbreak situation. The Chief Minister requested consultation with the Sindh government before major decisions were made.

Chief Minister Sindh also demanded inclusion of Sindh government input on decisions, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah requested a further 14-day extension in the lockdown.
